How dancers and guardians can claim and link to an existing dancer profile.
If a studio owner or teacher already created a dancer profile for you (or your child), you can claim that profile to link it to your own Kompdesk account. This gives you direct access to view schedules, entries, and results.
When to Claim vs. Create New
| Situation | Action |
|---|
| Your studio already added you as a dancer | Claim the existing profile |
| You have never been added to any studio | Create a new dancer profile |
| You are a guardian and your child's studio already added them | Claim the child's profile |
How to Claim a Dancer Profile
- Go to the Claim Dancer Access page (from the registration menu, from a link your studio sent you, or from Claim Existing Dancer in the Parent/Guardian Portal)
- Verify the dancer by entering:
- Surname
- Date of birth
- ID number: type the full number, not only the last digits
- Choose who you are:
- "I am the dancer": you are claiming your own profile
- "I am their parent/guardian": you are claiming access to a child's profile
- Confirm the name and studio shown are the right person
- Sign in to your existing account, or create one
- Accept the terms and conditions
- Done. The dancer profile is now linked to your account
After Claiming
- Dancers are redirected to their Dancer Dashboard where they can view entries, schedule, and results
- Parents and guardians are redirected to the Parent/Guardian Portal where the dancer appears among their dancers
- All existing registration data, entries, and history are preserved. Nothing is lost
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Solution |
|---|
| No match found | Double-check the surname spelling, date of birth, and ID number. Contact your studio if unsure |
| "Profile already claimed" | Someone has already linked this profile. Contact support if this is incorrect |
| Wrong details shown | Contact your studio owner to update the dancer's details, then try again |
