Online competitions

Run a judged online dance competition

An online competition on Kompdesk works like an in-person one without the venue. Dancers enter with a performance video, judges score remotely within a judging window you set, and results and certificates follow as usual.

Video entries

Every entry carries a performance video link from YouTube, Vimeo or Google Drive. Videos can be added or replaced until the submission deadline, and links are re-checked during the event so a video that goes private is caught early.

  • YouTube, Vimeo and Google Drive links
  • Submission deadline that freezes videos
  • Automatic checks for dead or private links

A judging window instead of an event day

Set the dates judging opens and closes. Assigned judges are emailed when it opens, score in their own time and in any order, and are reminded before the window closes.

  • Judges score on their own time
  • Reminder before the window closes
  • Progress tracking for the organiser

Same scoring, same results

Sections, scorecards, fees, results and certificates work exactly as they do at an in-person event, and online competitions can be publicly listed so studios find them and register.

  • Standard scorecard judging
  • Results and certificates
  • Public listing for registration

Questions

Do online competitions need a venue or tickets?

No. Venue, schedule, tickets, check-in and music playback are switched off for online events, because the videos carry their own audio.

What happens to an entry without a video?

It is marked as no submission and left out of the results, so it never holds a section back.
