Judging and scoring software for dance competitions
Give every judge a dedicated portal on their own tablet, laptop or phone. Kompdesk scores against your criteria, handles battles and placement rounds, keeps working when the venue Wi-Fi drops, and turns scores into results instantly.
Scorecards you design
Create scorecards with named criteria and maximum points, add judge comments if you want them, and choose whether participants can read those comments with their results. Assign a scorecard to each section.
- Named criteria with point values
- Optional or required comments
- One scorecard per section, reusable across sections
Battles and placement rounds
Run knockout battles with judge voting, or placement rounds where judges rank the performers. Both are built into the judging portal, so there is nothing to tally by hand.
- Battle knockout voting
- Placement ranking from 1st to 8th
- Clear tie and ranking rules
Built for real venues
If a judge loses connection, scores, battle votes and placement votes are saved on the device and synced automatically when the connection returns. Judges follow the live schedule section by section.
- Offline score sync
- Section by section flow
- Live schedule for judges
- Nothing to install: judges score in a web browser
Results without spreadsheets
Totals are calculated as scores arrive. Results, placements, awards and certificates are ready when the section closes, and corrections are recorded properly when a score has to change.
- Instant results and placements
- Custom awards and podium thresholds
- Score corrections with an audit trail
Late and pre-arranged dancers
Judges can skip a dancer who is not ready or move them to an out of section list, then score them later from the same scorecard. The section finishes without waiting, and each judge scores the dancer once.
- Skip, move to out of section or scratch
- Every judge on the stage scores the dancer together
- Placement and medal rules shown to the judge before scoring
Questions
What device does a judge need?
Any modern tablet, laptop or phone with a current browser. There is no app to install. A tablet is the most comfortable for a full day of judging.
Can judges see score medals while scoring?
No. Judges score against the criteria only, so score medals cannot influence a score.
