The Parent/Guardian Portal is your account home as a parent or legal guardian. It holds your children's dancer profiles, the events they are entered in, and the results and awards they have earned.
Open it at /portal/guardian, or pick Parent/Guardian on the portal selector after signing in.
What You Can Do Here
- Create a dancer profile for a child who is new to Kompdesk
- Claim an existing profile created by a studio or by the dancer themselves
- Browse events and register your children for them
- Open a child's event portal to see their schedule, entries, and results
- View their Trophy Case: awards, placements, and certificates
- Keep their details correct, link them to a studio, and give consent where a minor needs it
Your Dashboard
The dashboard answers one question first: what is each child doing next.
You get one card per dancer showing their name, age, studio, and their next event. From that card you can:
| Button | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Open (name)'s event | Goes straight into that child's portal for their next event |
| Register (name) for an event | Shown instead when they have nothing coming up |
| Manage | Opens that child's profile: details, studios, and event registrations |
Below the cards are the less frequent actions: Browse Events, Create Dancer, and Claim Existing Dancer.
If any child is missing an ID number, a warning appears at the top of the dashboard with a link to fix it. ID numbers are required for event registration and result verification.
Navigation
| Where | What You Find |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | Your dancers and their next events |
| Events | Browse events and register a child |
| My Dancers | The full roster, studio links, and profile management |
| Trophy Case | Awards, placements, and certificates |
| More | Create Dancer, Claim Existing Dancer, Account Settings, Contact Support |
On a phone these are the tabs along the bottom of the screen, with More as the last tab. On a computer they are in the sidebar on the left.
Viewing One Child at a Time
If you manage two or more dancers, a Viewing row of name chips appears in the portal header. It sets which child the whole portal shows. See "Switching Between Your Dancers".
Adding vs Claiming a Dancer
| Action | When to Use |
|---|---|
| Create Dancer | Your child has no profile yet. You create one, either linked to their studio with a studio code or as an independent dancer with no studio |
| Claim Existing Dancer | Your child already has a profile, created by their studio or registered as an independent dancer, and you want it on your account |
Both are in the More menu, on the dashboard, and on My Dancers.
