What If a Dancer Doesn't Show Up?

What to do when a dancer does not show up for their performance.

If a dancer does not show up for the event, their entry will still appear in your judging list. There is currently no dedicated "no-show" function in the system.

What to Do

Simply score the entry as 0 across all criteria. This allows the schedule to advance normally without being blocked by the missing dancer.

Why This Works

  • The schedule requires every entry to be scored by all assigned judges before it can advance
  • Scoring a 0 ensures the section completes and the competition keeps moving
  • The entry will appear in results with a score of 0, which effectively places it last

Tips

  • Don't skip indefinitely: If you use the skip/defer feature hoping the dancer will arrive, remember the section cannot complete until every entry is scored. If the dancer never arrives, you'll need to go back and score them anyway.
  • Coordinate with the organiser: If you know a dancer won't be coming, the organiser may choose to withdraw the entry. But if the entry is still in your list, score it as 0.
  • All judges must score: Make sure every assigned judge also scores the no-show entry as 0, otherwise the schedule will stall waiting for the remaining judges.
