A single Kompdesk account can hold multiple roles. For example, you can be both a Studio Owner and a Judge, or a Dancer and a Guardian. Each role gives you access to a different portal with its own dashboard and features.
Adding a New Role
To add a role to your existing account:
- Go to the Portal Selector page (shown after login if you have multiple roles, or navigate to it via the user menu)
- Scroll to the "Add Another Role" section
- Click the role you want to add (e.g., "Become a Judge", "Become a Studio Owner")
- Complete the role-specific registration form
- Your new portal appears in the Portal Selector immediately
You can also add a role by visiting the registration page while logged in. The system detects your existing account and offers an "Add Role" option instead of full registration.
Switching Between Portals
If you have more than one role, you will see the Portal Selector after logging in. It shows:
- Your Portals: cards for each role you hold, with icons and descriptions
- Add Another Role: available roles you can register for
Click any portal card to enter that role's dashboard. To switch portals later:
- Click your profile icon or user menu in the top-right corner
- Select "Switch Portal" or "My Portals"
- Choose the portal you want
Available Role Combinations
| Role | Can Combine With |
|---|---|
| Studio Owner | Judge, Guardian |
| Teacher | Judge, Guardian |
| Dancer | Guardian |
| Independent Dancer | Guardian |
| Judge | Studio Owner, Teacher, Guardian |

Important Notes
- Your login credentials stay the same across all roles: one email, one password
- Each role has its own dashboard with role-specific features
- Event-specific data (entries, scores, schedule) is tied to the role you used to register for that event
- You cannot hold the same role twice (e.g., two Studio Owner roles)
